HOW TO PLAY
🎮 The Basics
Blocks (tetrominoes) fall from the top. Move and rotate them to fill complete horizontal lines.
A complete line is cleared and you score points. Incomplete lines stack up — fill the board and it's game over.
Hard drop instantly slams the piece to the bottom. The ghost piece (faint outline) shows where it will land.
📦
Hold Piece — press the hold key to save your current piece for later. The held piece is shown in the sidebar. A 🔒 icon appears when hold is spent for that piece — it resets automatically when the next piece spawns. Can be toggled OFF in Settings.
Lock delay — when a piece touches the ground you have a brief window to slide or rotate before it locks. Up to 15 moves extend the timer, so skilled players can reposition right at the bottom.
🎲
Fair piece order — pieces are dealt in shuffled sets of all 7 (a "7-bag" system). You will never go more than 12 pieces without seeing any given tetromino.
📈
Every 10 lines cleared you level up. Higher levels drop faster. Difficulty also slowly increases over time.
⭐ Scoring
1️⃣
Single line: 100 × level
2️⃣
Double: 300 × level
3️⃣
Triple: 700 × level
4️⃣
Tetris (4 lines): 1500 × level
🔗
Back-to-back bonus: Scoring a Tetris or T-Spin directly after another Tetris or T-Spin (without any normal clear in between) awards 1.5× points. A B2B! tag flashes on the board to confirm it. Single/double/triple clears break the chain.
🔥
Streak bonus: Clearing lines on consecutive pieces multiplies points. A streak counter is shown in the sidebar — watch it escalate from yellow to orange to white as your combo climbs.
🧱
Placement bonus: Every block placed scores 5 × level points — even without clearing lines.
💨
Hard drop bonus: +2 points per row the piece travels on a hard drop.
2× Multiplier power-up: All points are doubled for 8 seconds. Shown as ×2 next to your level in the sidebar.
📊 End-of-Game Stats
🏁
When the game ends a full stats screen appears showing your complete performance — score, time, level, lines cleared, all line clear types, T-spins, hard drops, holds, power-ups, and every piece type you placed.
In 2P mode both players' stats appear side by side for easy comparison. Press PLAY AGAIN to rematch or MENU to return to the main screen.
⚔ 2-Player Combat
🏆
Two players compete simultaneously. The player with the highest score when both top out wins (Score mode), or the last player standing wins (Last Stand mode).
📊
The leading player's score pulses and grows in the sidebar so you always know who's ahead.
🗑 Garbage Lines
💥
Clearing 2 or more lines at once sends garbage to your opponent. 2 lines → 1 garbage row, 3 → 2 rows, 4 → 3 rows.
Garbage rows appear as dark grey blocks rising from the bottom, each with one random gap. The same gap column is used across all rows in a burst — use that column to clear them.
🛡
Garbage is capped at 4 rows per burst — it can never instantly end the game. You'll always have a chance to react.
📊
A red warning bar pulses next to your board showing how many garbage lines are queued against you. The fuller the bar, the more is coming.
Garbage can be toggled OFF in Settings if you prefer a pure score battle.
🛡 Garbage Cancelling
If you have incoming garbage queued, clearing lines will cancel it instead of attacking your opponent. Clear 2 lines with 3 queued → cancel 1 line of garbage, send 0 to opponent.
🎯
Cancelling is automatic — your cleared lines offset your own pending garbage first. Any excess attack flows through to the opponent as normal.
A 🛡 CANCELLED N! flash in green confirms how many lines were cancelled. Watch your warning bar and time your clears to neutralise incoming attacks.
✨ Power-ups
🎁
Clearing 3 or more lines at once triggers a random power-up for the clearing player.
💣
Clear Bottom Row — instantly removes your lowest filled row, giving you breathing room.
🐢
Slow Opponent — your opponent's drop speed is halved for 5 seconds. Their board gets a yellow tint.
2× Score Multiplier — all your points are doubled for 8 seconds.
💰
Bonus Points — instant score dump of 500 × level.
👁
Glitch — hides your opponent's ghost piece for 10 seconds. They can no longer see where their piece will land. Their board gets a purple tint.
Freeze — blocks your opponent's rotation for 3 seconds. They cannot rotate pieces at all. Their board gets a blue shimmer.
Active power-ups show as icons with a drain bar in the sidebar. Power-ups can be toggled OFF in Settings.
🔄 T-Spins
🌀
A T-Spin is when a T-piece is rotated into a tight space that it couldn't slide into directly. T-Spins score bonus points and in 2P mode can also send extra garbage.
The sidebar shows a T-SPIN counter. Achieving T-Spins consistently is an advanced technique that rewards positional planning.
🔗
T-Spins count toward the back-to-back chain — consecutive T-Spins and Tetrises each score 1.5× their normal value.
